Hot on the heels of the recently launched GTC, the new Astra VXR is set to become one of the most powerful cars in its class and the fastest production Astra in our history. The inaugural award by the British car-maker recognises and rewards top performing retailers for the quality of service they give to their customers, using only customer satisfaction as the judging criteria.

To celebrate this special accolade, Vauxhall Franchise Manager, Alastair Cassels, presented Managing Director John Haugh and the team with their Customer Excellence Award at the dealership on St Marys Street this week.

John comments: “We’re delighted with this achievement and would like to thank all of our customers for representing us in such a positive light in Vauxhall’s satisfaction surveys and therefore helping us to secure this incredible award.

“We have been trading for over 125 years now, so when a customer visits our dealership, they can feel confident that they will be receiving truly dedicated customer service. Indeed, as we are so committed to our customers, we’ll be doing our very best to ensure that we score even higher next year!”

It’s a real family affair to be proud of for John Haugh and his three sons, Richard, Simon and Christopher, who are key members of the team at the dealership. The close-knit team gives them the opportunity to build strong relationships with their customers, ensuring they return to the dealership time and time again.

John adds: “I’m really proud to have my sons working at the dealership with me. It’s the level of hard work and dedication from the team that makes our dealership so successful and gives customer the best possible care and service, so I’d like to personally say thank you for their help in winning this award.”

The family-run dealer in Dumfries was one of the 40 Vauxhall sites in the country to have the highest and most impressive combined scores from Vauxhall’s Purchase Satisfaction and Service Satisfaction surveys, calculated at the end of 2011.

Customers are invited to take part in both surveys after they buy a new Vauxhall and after they get their vehicle serviced for the first or second time. Over 40,000 responses to each survey were collected by Vauxhall last year, helping to generate an accurate and long-term picture of customer experience.

The Scottish Football Association has announced a new three-and-a-half year sponsorship agreement with Vauxhall.

The car manufacturer will back Scotland's national teams at all age levels for men and women.

The company announced sponsorship agreements with the English, Welsh and Northern Irish associations.
